Nominations Open May 1 for the 2026 Municipal Election

The Township of Lanark Highlands is advising residents that the nomination period for the 2026 Municipal Election officially opens on May 1, 2026.

Individuals interested in running for Reeve, Deputy Reeve, or Councillor are encouraged to review the information available and consider the responsibilities of serving on Council. The Township’s website includes details on candidate eligibility, filing requirements, key dates, and other helpful resources.

Prospective candidates are strongly encouraged to book an appointment with the Clerk’s Office to file their nomination and to discuss the process. Appointments can be scheduled in advance through the Township.

The 2026 Municipal Election will be conducted using internet and telephone voting. Voting is scheduled to take place from October 19 to October 26, 2026.
