Notice of Public Meeting for the Comprehensive Zoning By-law Review

TAKE NOTICE that the Township of Lanark Highlands is undertaking a comprehensive review of Comprehensive Zoning By-law No. 2003-451 in accordance with the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. P.13.

The purpose of the review is to evaluate the existing zoning provisions and prepare a new Comprehensive Zoning By-law that:

• Implements the policies of the Township of Lanark Highlands Official Plan and applicable Provincial planning policies;
• Reflects the current and future needs of the community;
• Aligns with Council's strategic priorities and changes to planning legislation; and
• Is user-friendly and provides clear direction for land use and development.

The current Comprehensive Zoning By-law No. 2003-451 can be viewed on the Township's website.

As part of this process, the Township is seeking input from residents, property owners, businesses, and other interested parties. Comments received during the review process will help inform the preparation of the new Comprehensive Zoning By-law.

Public Information Open House

Date: Tuesday, September 15, 2026

Location: 75 George St, Lanark

Time: 2:00 - 4:00 p.m and 5:00 -7:00 p.m

Purpose: An informal open house where members of the public can learn about the Zoning By-law Review, speak with Township staff and the project team, and provide comments and feedback.

Public Meeting

Date: Tuesday, September 22, 2026

Time: 6:00pm

Location: Council Chambers Municipal Office - 75 George Street, Lanark

Purpose: A statutory Public Meeting will be held pursuant to the Planning Act to provide the public with an opportunity to comment on the proposed Comprehensive Zoning By-law.
