Information for Voters

Voters’ List – Confirm or Update Your Information

Elections Ontario maintains the Permanent Register of Electors for Ontario, also known as the Voters List, which is used for both provincial and municipal elections.

You can confirm, update, or add your information if you:

  • Have changed your name or address
  • Own or rent a new property
  • No longer own or rent a property
  • Want to remove your information from the Register

Visit RegisterToVoteON.ca or call 1-866-242-3025 to get started.

Voting in More Than One Municipality

If you or your spouse own or rent property in a municipality other than your primary residence, you may be eligible to vote in more than one municipal election. Be sure to register in each applicable municipality through Elections Ontario.

Register of Future Voters

Ontario residents who are 16 or 17 years old can pre-register with the Register of Future Voters. Once you turn 18, your information will be automatically added to the Voters List.

School Support Designation

As of January 1, 2024, MPAC (Municipal Property Assessment Corporation) no longer collects voter information for municipal elections. However, MPAC continues to manage school support designations.

Property owners must designate their school support even if:

  • They do not have children
  • Their children do not attend school
  • They wish to support a specific school board for trustee voting purposes

You can update your designation using MPAC’s Online School Support Tool.

For more information, visit the MPAC website.

Internet and Telephone Voting

The Township will be using secure internet and telephone voting for the 2026 municipal election in October. Eligible voters will receive a Voter Information Letter with instructions and a unique PIN closer to the voting period. In the meantime, the FAQ below provides an overview of how the process works so you can be prepared.

Voting FAQs

All qualified electors on the official Municipal Elector's List provided by the municipality will receive a VIL in the mail before the first voting day.
