Third Party Advertiser Information

If a person, corporation or trade union intends to spend money on advertisements or other materials that support, promote or oppose a candidate running in the 2026 Municipal and School Board Elections, they are required to register as a Third Party Advertiser with the Clerk.​

The Third Party Registration Period for the 2026 Municipal and School Board Election began on May 1, 2026 and closes on October 23, 2026. Those wishing to register as a Third Party Advertiser are encouraged to set up an appointment ahead of time to ensure Staff availability.

The Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing has prepared a Third Party Advertisers’ Guide for the 2026 Ontario Municipal and School Board Elections, which provides information to Third Party Advertisers such as how to register, responsibilities, financial rules and compliance and enforcement.
