ACTIVATION OF REDUCED LOAD PERIOD ON ALL TOWNSHIP ROADS

Take notice that reduced load restrictions (five (5) tonnes per axle) is in force on all Township Roads as of Thursday, March 1st, 2018
The reduced load period is necessary for the protection of all Township Roads which are susceptible to damage during the spring thaw.
The restriction will be removed when the likelihood of road damage has diminished.

TAKE NOTICE that the Council of The Corporation of the Township of Lanark Highlands proposes to enact a By-Law to stop up, close and convey that part of the original allowance for road set out and described as follows:
PART OF THE ROAD ALLOWANCE BETWEEN CONCESSIONS 3 & 4 (IN FRONT OF LOT 1) CONCESSION 3 & 4 GEOGRAPHIC TOWNSHIP OF DALHOUSIE, TOWNSHIP OF LANARK HIGHLANDS DESIGNATED AS PART 1 ON 27R10996
The proposed By-Law will come before the said Council for consideration at its regular meeting at the Municipal Office at Lanark, Ontario on the 16th day of January, 2018 at the hour of 6:00 p.m. and at that time the Council will hear any person who claims that his land will be prejudicially affected and who applies to the Clerk to be heard either in person or by his Counsel, Solicitor or Agent.

Snow Removal 2017/2018

Parking of vehicles on Township Roads and Village Streets from 12:00 midnight to 7:00 a.m. will not be permitted from November 17, 2017 to April 15, 2018. The prohibition of parking applies to the entire road right-of-way, normally 10m (33') from the centre of the road.
The Township of Lanark Highlands will not be responsible for damages to mailboxes, newspaper boxes or parked vehicles where the boxes or vehicles interfere with the snowplowing of Township Roads.
It is an offence under the Ontario Highway Traffic Act to push snow onto or across a Township Road or Street. The removal of such snow piles by the Township will be charged to the adjacent property owner.

The Middleville Hazardous Waste Depot IS CLOSED for the season, and will re-open on the Victoria Day weekend, 2018.
