PURPOSE AND EFFECT:
The Official Plan is Council’s commitment to Township residents, containing the goals,
objectives and policies intended to guide land use development and conservation over a
25-year time horizon. The Official Plan manages and directs physical development
within the context of social, economic, built, and natural environment matters.
The Planning Act requires that an Official Plan be updated to ensure that it: conforms
with provincial plans or does not conflict with them; has regard to matters of provincial
interest; and is consistent with provincial policy statements. The Township Official Plan
must also conform with the Lanark County Official Plan
PROPERTY DESCRIPTION:
The update to the Official Plan will affect all lands within the municipal boundary of
Township of Lanark Highlands. Accordingly, no key map is provided.
PUBLIC RECORD:
Personal information is collected under the authority of the Planning Act and the
Municipal Act, 2001, S.O. 2001, c. 25, as amended. The information collected will be
used to complete the Official Plan Amendment review and will form part of the public
