Over the years, Council and staff have received numerous complaints about the degrading condition of private properties within the Township.

Council has directed staff to investigate the implementation of a Clean and Safe Properties By-Law.  Further, Council wants to ensure that the public is consulted in this process so the Township can be responsive to the needs of the community.

A Clean and Safe Properties By-Law may be passed that restricts anything from overgrown grass to derelict vehicles on private properties within the Township.  With the understanding that many items may be regulated, Council is asking residents to identify what they would like to see covered under the by-law.

Residents can complete the survey online or by submitting a paper copy by mail or directly in the drop slot outside the Township Office at 75 George St., Lanark, Ontario, K0G 1K0.
