LANARK COUNTY OPP DETACHMENT WEEKLY NEWS

(LANARK COUNTY, ON) – Between Monday, January 10, 2022 and Monday, January 17, 2022 officers from the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to 221 calls for service. 

The calls included:

Motor Vehicle Collisions

Total:  23   

Vs Deer: 9

Parking Lots: 3

Single Motor Vehicle off Road (“in ditch”): 7

Impaired Driving

On January 10, 2022 Steven HAIRE, age 62 of the Town of Perth, was charged with one count each of impaired operation – alcohol or drugs and impaired operation – blood alcohol concentration over 80 as the result of a traffic complaint on Dufferin Street in Perth. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on February 28, 2022.

On January 14, 2022 Charles HALL, age 42 of the Town of Perth, was charged with one count each of impaired operation – alcohol or drugs and impaired operation – blood alcohol concentration over 80 as the result of a traffic stop on Hand’s Road in Drummond-North Elmsley Township. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on February 7, 2022.

Domestic investigations

On January 16, 2022 a 32yr old resident of Drummond-North Elmsley Township was charged with one count of spousal assault as the result of a domestic investigation. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on February 21, 2022.

The Lanark County OPP also investigated 3 non-criminal domestic disputes during this week.

Thefts

Officers of the Lanark County OPP investigated 3 theft complaints during the past week.

Frauds

The Lanark County OPP received 5 reports of fraud this week.
