(LANARK COUNTY, ON) – Between Monday, June 6, 2022 and Monday, June 13, 2022 officers from the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to 484 calls for service. 

The calls included:

Motor Vehicle Collisions

Total:  24  

Vs Deer: 8

Parking Lots: 2

Single Motor Vehicle off Road (“in ditch”):  4

Vs. Cyclist: 1

Impaired Driving

On June 6, 2022 Kevin CLARK, age 58 of the Town of Carleton Place, was charged with one count each of operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration over 80 and operation while impaired – alcohol or drugs as the result of a traffic stop on McNeely Avenue in Carleton Place. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on July 18, 2022.

On June 9, 2022, Matthew KITCHEN, age 19 of the City of Barrie, was charged with one count each of operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration over 80 and operation while impaired – alcohol or drugs as the result of a motor vehicle collision investigation on Pine Grove Road in Lanark Highlands Township. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on July 25, 2022.

Domestic investigations

On June 6, 2022 a 28yr old resident of the Municipality of Mississippi Mills was charged with two counts of Spousal Assault as the result of a domestic investigation. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on July 18, 2022

On June 8, 2022 a 30yr old resident of the City of Ottawa was charged with spousal assault and two counts of domestic mischief as the result of a domestic investigation in the Town of Carleton Place. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on August 8, 2022.

On June 10, 2022 a 22yr old resident of the Municipality of Mississippi Mills was charged with one count each of spousal assault and theft under $5000 as the result of a domestic investigation. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on July 25, 2022.

The Lanark County OPP also investigated 7 non-criminal domestic disputes during this week.

Thefts

Officers of the Lanark County OPP investigated 11 theft complaints during the past week.

Frauds

The Lanark County OPP received 6 reports of fraud this week.
