LANARK COUNTY OPP DETACHMENT WEEKLY NEWS

(LANARK COUNTY, ON) – Between Monday, November 29, 2021 and Monday, December 6, 2021 officers from the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to 389 calls for service. 

The calls included:

Motor Vehicle Collisions

Total:  48   

Vs Deer: 12

Parking Lots: 5

Single Motor Vehicle off Road (“in ditch”): 12

Impaired Driving

On November 29, 2021 Donny STEPHENS, age 40 of the City of Ottawa, was charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration over 80 and Operation while impaired – alcohol or drugs as the result of collision investigation in Tay Valley Township. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on January 10, 2022

On December 5, 2021 Riley McCOY, age 23 of Beckwith Township, was charged with one count of operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration over 80 as the result of a traffic stop in the Municipality of Mississippi Mills. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on January 31, 2022.

Domestic Incidents

On November 29, 2021 a 56yr old resident of Carleton Place was charged with one count of spousal assault and one count of Utter threats to cause death or bodily harm as a result of a domestic investigation. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on December 27, 2021

On December 2, 2021 a 40yr old resident of Lanark Highlands Township was charged with one count of spousal assault as the result of a domestic investigation. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on January 31, 2022.

The Lanark County OPP also investigated 13 non-criminal domestic disputes during this week.

Thefts

Officers of the Lanark County OPP investigated 5 theft complaints during the past week.

Frauds

The Lanark County OPP received 2 reports of fraud this week.
