The Township of Lanark Highlands will continue the Public Meeting to consider a proposed official plan and zoning by-law amendment (OPA-08 & ZA-2023-02 Thomas Cavanagh Construction Limited) on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. The meeting will be held at the McDonald’s Corners Agricultural Society Hall, 194 Cameron’s Road, McDonald’s Corners, ON, K0G 1M0
We are pleased to share that the meeting will be livestreamed on the Township’s official YouTube channel, with the recording available afterward for on-demand viewing.
How to Watch the Livestream:
- Open your internet browser (Chrome, Edge, Safari, etc.).
- Go to YouTube at www.youtube.com
- In the search bar, type: Lanark Highlands Council (or use this direct link: https://www.youtube.com/@LanarkHighlands_Council).
- Click on our official channel in the search results.
- On our channel page, look for the “Live” tab .
- Click on the livestream titled “Public Meeting - Highland Line - 11 September 2025”.
- The video will begin playing at the meeting start time.
Watching Later
If you cannot join live, the video will be saved on our YouTube channel. Simply return to the channel after the meeting and look under Videos to find the recording.
Public Meeting Protocol
To ensure an orderly and respectful process, the following protocol will guide the upcoming Public Meeting:
The Reeve will serve as Chair and manage the meeting. The meeting will begin with a presentation from the Township Planner, followed by a presentation from the applicant. Members of the public will then have the opportunity to provide comments or ask questions.
Speakers will be invited to the microphone. The Chair will recognize each speaker in turn. Each speaker will have up to five minutes to present their comments. Participants are encouraged to share new information, as issues already raised will be noted. To ensure everyone has the opportunity to speak, the Chair may guide the discussion forward if points are being repeated.
All questions and comments must be directed through the Chair.
If you are unable to attend the meeting, written comments will be accepted until September 19, 2025. These may be submitted to the Township Office by mail, email, or in person. All written comments received by the deadline will form part of the public record.
