(LANARK COUNTY, ON) – Between Monday, August 8, 2022 and Monday, August 15, 2022 officers from the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to 405 calls for service. 

The calls included:

Motor Vehicle Collisions

 Total:   37 

Vs Deer: 9

Parking Lots: 1

Single Motor Vehicle off Road (“in ditch”): 5

Vs Porcupine: 1

Vs Turkey: 1

Vs Horse: 1

Impaired Driving

On August 11, 2022, Peyton MARSH age 18 of the Town of Corbyville, was charged with operation while impaired -blood alcohol concentration over 80, operation while impaired -alcohol and drugs and Dangerous Operation as the result of a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 7 in Drummond-North Elmsley Township. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on September 19, 2022.

Domestic investigations

On August 11, 2022 a 45 year old resident of the City of Ottawa was charged with four counts of uttering threats to cause death as the result of a domestic investigation in the Town of Perth which began on August 9. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on August 22, 2022.

On August 11, 2022 a 20 year old resident of the Town of Carleton Place was charged with three counts of uttering threats to cause death, two counts of spousal assault with a weapon and one count of dangerous operation as the result of a domestic investigation in the Town of Carleton Place. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on September 12, 2022.

The Lanark County OPP investigated 19 non-criminal domestic disputes during this week.

Thefts

Officers of the Lanark County OPP investigated 15 theft complaints during the past week.

Frauds

The Lanark County OPP received 4 reports of fraud this week.
