LANARK COUNTY OPP DETACHMENT WEEKLY NEWS

(LANARK COUNTY, ON) – Between Monday, January 18 2021 and Monday, January 25, 2021 officers from the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to 261 calls for service. 

The calls included:

Motor Vehicle Collisions

Total: 21        

Car / Deer: 6

Parking Lots: 1

Single Motor Vehicle off Road (“in ditch”): 5

Motorized Snow Vehicle: 2

Impaired Driving

On January 23, 2021 Faith HUTTON, age 26 of Carleton Place, was charged with one count each of impaired operation of a motor vehicle and impaired operation – over 80mg as the result of a traffic stop on McNeely Avenue. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on February 22, 2021.

Domestic Incidents

On January 21, 2021 a 26yr old resident of Perth was charged with one count of failing to comply with a release order as the result of a domestic investigation. The accused was held for a show cause hearing.

On January 22, 2021 a 37yr old resident of Carleton Place was charged with one count of mischief to property under $5000 as the result of a domestic investigation. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on February 22, 2021.

The Lanark County OPP also investigated 12 non-criminal domestic disputes during this week.

Thefts

Officers of the Lanark County OPP investigated 8 theft complaints during the past week.

Mischief

The Lanark County OPP investigated 2 incidents of mischief and/or property damage during the past week.

Frauds

The Lanark County OPP investigated 2 reports of fraud during the past week.
