LANARK COUNTY OPP DETACHMENT WEEKLY NEWS

(LANARK COUNTY, ON) – Between Monday, October 11, 2021 and Monday, October 18, 2021 officers from the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to 378 calls for service. 

The calls included:

Motor Vehicle Collisions

Total:      38

Vs Deer: 10

Parking Lots: 7

Single Motor Vehicle off Road (“in ditch”): 5

Vs. Bear: 1

Vs porcupine: 1

Impaired Driving

On October 16, 2021 Calvin COOKE, 55yrs of age, of the Town of Perth, was charged with one count of operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration over 80 as the result of a traffic stop on George Street in the Village of Lanark. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on November 29, 2021.

Domestic Incidents

The Lanark County OPP also investigated 10 non-criminal domestic disputes during this week.

Thefts

Officers of the Lanark County OPP investigated 7 theft complaints during the past week.

Frauds

The Lanark County OPP received 1 reports of fraud this week.
