LANARK COUNTY OPP DETACHMENT WEEKLY NEWS

(LANARK COUNTY, ON) – Between Monday, October 4, 2021 and Monday, October 11, 2021 officers from the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to 412 calls for service. 

The calls included:

Motor Vehicle Collisions

Total:      50

Vs Deer: 15

Parking Lots: 4

Single Motor Vehicle off Road (“in ditch”): 6

Vs. Bear: 2

Vs Coyote: 1

Impaired Driving

On October 8, 2021 Matthew John THOMAS, 34yrs of age, of Lanark Highlands Township, was charged with one count of failure or refusal to comply with demand as the result of a traffic stop on Wilson Street West in the Town of Perth. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on November 8, 2021.

Domestic Incidents

The Lanark County OPP also investigated 13 non-criminal domestic disputes during this week.

Thefts

Officers of the Lanark County OPP investigated 5 theft complaints during the past week.

Frauds

The Lanark County OPP received 3 reports of fraud this week.
